The Artini Resort is a mid-range budget hotel. We will therefore judge it that sense. It is located in Ubud in Bali, Indonesia.
The review below is our independent opinion. We assess various components with a system of a maximum of 10 points. The total score is then given in a maximum 5 star rating. In general we only post reviews when we can give at least a 3 star rating. If it is lower, we will not place a hotel anyway. We believe that is a waste of our time. The price per night that we use is always that of the high season because we never travel during the rainy seasons and most people are tied to holiday periods anyway.

About the location 8/10
The location of the Artini Resort is perfect. It is located in the middle of the center of Ubud. You still have to walk through a long street and driveway of approximately 200 meters before you arrive at the resort. You then no longer hear any noise from traffic and you end up in an oasis of peace that you no longer expect in the heart of Ubud. The area is as beautiful as you might expect.
The Welcome 8/10
Upon arrival you will receive a welcome drink and a towel for your hands. After scanning your passports you will receive an explanation about the facilities of the hotel. After that you will be taken to your room with your luggage in a golf cart. That’s nice because there is quite a difference in altitude between the rooms and the lobby. For people with mobility problems, it is therefore wise to call the golf cart if you want to move around the hotel.
Design and style 7/10
The resort is designed in the historic Balinese “Ubud” style. That gives the hotel an enormous amount of atmosphere. The orange walls in combination with the concrete decorations and ornaments look a lot like the Hindu temples of the island. In addition, the hotel has no fewer than two swimming pools. Both are large and clean and have plenty of sun beds and nice seating areas. You can look from one pool to the other and the newest pool also has views of the rice fields and a pool bar. There are palms around the pools for that typical tropical look.
The hotel room (# 205) 6/10

The room was well furnished and large enough for two people. It has a large balcony with two chairs and a table where you can relax. The rooms have a comfortable king-size bed with a good mattress and two good pillows each. There is also a fridge where you can put your own drinks. The hotels provide 2 x 500ml bottles of water every day. The bathroom is connected to the room with a large window. This is awkward if you if you want to shower and someone is still sleeping. Fortunately they have a roller blind so that you can shower privately. Yet such a roller blind is not a chicque solution.
The only downside to the room is the shower. The water pressure is very low and the water gets hot and cold all the time. The shower head is also very small, but even for this, the water pressure is too low. Despite the fact that apart from this the room is very good, this counts hard for us and provides a 2 point deduction. The room is also soundproof.
Facilities
Wifi & Electrical outlets: 7/10

The WIFI in the hotel is perfect in some places, but not so good in other places such as in our room. They have different Wi-Fi networks and we have tried them all. When we were at the pool, it was perfect. But the wifi couldn’t handle Netflix or streaming in our room (room 205). However, if the Wifi is not too good, you do have 4G reception here. There were enough sockets to charge everything and also at the bedside table.
Swimming pool: 9/10
The hotel has 2 swimming pools. The new swimming pool is great. The temperature is perfect and the water is very clean. The other pool (the old pool) is a bit outdated, but it’s nice that they have two pools, so it’s never too busy.
Fitness & Wellness: 5/10

The hotel has a very small gym with 4 machines. It is not very complete, but you can do some exercises there. There is a wellness of the hotel that is down the street towards the lobby. We found the massages they offer incredibly overpriced (50-85 EUR), so we didn’t take them because that is even more than the room price.
Restaurant options & Breakfast 5/10
The breakfast buffet is available every morning from 6:30 AM – 10 AM. It is not a very large buffet, but you have both Western and Indonesian kitchen to choose from. There is also an Eggcorner where a cook bakes an egg for you. The food is fairly limited and is often relatively cold in the buffet bins. Once we went at 9:40, so a little late for breakfast and most of the trays were already empty so we would recommend the hotel to keep breakfast full until the end.
We have not had lunch or dinner here and we recommend that you do that in the center of Ubud.
Housekeeping & Cleaning 8/10
The room was perfectly clean. If you want them to clean your room, you must place the sign on the door. Otherwise they don’t clean, so that’s good to know. If you want new towels, you must place them on the floor. Otherwise they won’t change that. This was all well organized.
Staff 8/10
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They open the umbrellas for you if you want and they all say hello.
Maintenance 7/10
Most is well maintained. However, there is also some wood in lamps etc that could be replaced. None of it is disturbing by the way. The showers would have to be replaced and the water pressure really had to be higher.
Value for money 8/10
The price quality for the Artini Resort is excellent. The room rate is 60 EUR per night in high season. It is close to the center of Ubud but it is still a very quiet area. The hotel has a large swimming pool and the rooms are clean and well maintained.
